Name: Greg & Chris
Lives in: We live in Munich, Germany. Greg lives in the city, while Chris lives about a 50-minute drive from the city in the countryside.
From: Chris and Greg were both born in south-eastern Bavaria, Germany. Each grew up in small towns, not too far away from each other actually, even though they only met in Munich. Funnily enough, Chris’ soon-to-be-wife has known Greg since he was a kid, because she went to the same church as him.
Occupation: Our main job is being co-founders and management team at Personality Path, our Enneagram business. In addition, Greg is a freelance consultant, and I am a freelance writer and editor.
Greg: For Personality Path, I take on a lot of roles. I manage our website, marketing, outreach, product and test development, and many more. In other words, everything that keeps the website running and our business growing.
Chris: I, on the other hand, manage everything that is content related. I write new stuff for the site, articles for our blog, emails to our customers, our products and video scripts. I also handle customer support. Basically anything that needs to be written falls under my jurisdiction.
Tell us your first three jobs (ever!):
Greg: My very first job was working for an H&M store in Munich. During my studies, I first worked for the product and service innovation consulting department of Siemens AG, and then as an intern for an early-stage nutrition start-up in Silicon Valley.
Chris: My very first job was working at a paper factory in my hometown. I also worked for a local clothing store wrapping Christmas shopping in the freezing cold, and re-stocking shelves at the grocery store next to my student apartment when I moved to Munich.
Enneagram type: Greg is shaped by type 3 with a 2 wing. Chris is shaped by type 5 with a strong 4 wing.
What do you love about Greece?
Greg: I have been to Greece once, and the one thing I can say is that it has the most beautiful beaches and the most gorgeous ocean views in the whole of Europe. I haven’t been to another place that comes close to the Aegean Sea.
Chris: I’m afraid I can’t speak from experience. I haven’t been to Greece yet. But I can say that what I love about Greece without ever having been there is the generosity and hospitality of its people. The Greeks that I know all put me to shame when it comes to being generous – be it with their homes, their time, or their resources. Coming from type Five, I have also always been fascinated by ancient Greek history and mythology. I remember spending days as a kid reading books about the great Greek heroes and goddesses, trying to figure out how much of that was actually real and what wasn’t. The day I stand on top of the Acropolis will be an emotional moment.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you:
Greg: I know how to make an authentic Afghan Chai tea, something I learned during a four-month development aid stay in the Hindukush mountains in Northern Pakistan.
Chris: It’s not something super secret, but there’s still a lot of people who don’t know that I spend a lot of my free time painting tiny miniatures. It’s a whole world for me to get lost in. I guess it’s the perfect type 5 hobby.
Where we are most likely to find you in Lynn’s community? On her website, reading her brilliant stuff. Since we haven’t been able to attend one of her classes yet, we have been focused on the fantastic content she has written over the years.
Tell us your top tip to combat climate change: To remember that the thing that comes before “reuse” and “recycle” is “reduce”. The most sustainable product is the one you don’t buy in the first place.
